- 1Never silently tracked
around.fan does not read, store or infer a creator's device location. A location exists on the platform only when a creator types it in and publishes it.
- 2Published intent, not GPS
Around Now posts describe what a creator plans to do and roughly where. Area-level by default; an exact venue is a separate, explicit opt-in.
- 3Ephemeral by design
Every location post carries an expiry. After it lapses, the venue field is purged within 24 hours and never appears in search, exports or analytics.
- 4Access-controlled reveal
Exact venues release only to fans who pass the creator's gate — approved, ticketed, members or lottery winners — and only on their Fan Pass at the scheduled time.
- 5Crowd-risk guardrails
Public + exact venue + more than 1,000 interested fans is blocked until the creator hides the venue, sets a capacity or moves to registration.
- 6Creators own their fans
Fan lists are exportable and data is portable. Admins can audit visibility settings, but cannot see hidden venues without a logged, two-person break-glass.
